Directions – Road

Whim House Retreat is located on the A701 two miles south of Penicuik. The land on which it was constructed was originally part of Whim Hall – an 18th century manor house built by the Duke of Argyll. Whim Hall became a care home in 1995 and the two properties still share the same entrance and approach road on the A701 pictured here.

As soon as you come off the A701, turn sharp right and follow the road around the perimeter of the Whim Estate (in yellow on the map below), making sure to turn right again just before you get to Whim Hall Care Home.

As you come through the entrance gate to Whim House Retreat, the car park is in on your left in front of the glamping pods
