Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a Japanese bodywork therapy that uses finger and palm pressure, stretches and joint manipulations to support the body's natural healing processes. Rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, it works with the flow of Ki (vital energy) through the body's meridian pathways.

Whether you're looking to reduce stress, manage chronic pain, or simply achieve a deeper sense of wellbeing, Shiatsu offers a holistic approach that addresses the whole person — body, mind and spirit.

The Shiatsu Therapist at Whim House Retreat is Mari Suganuma. Prior to moving to Scotland in 2025, she was the principal therapist at the Nippon Shiatsu Clinic (London) at which she treated over three thousand patients. Mari has been a member of The Shiatsu Society UK since August 1994.

A treatment session lasts an hour. To make a booking, email Mari at nsclinicuk@gmail.com or call the Whim House Retreat main telephone number – 01968 38 1958. Treatment cost is £50 per session.
